Jeffrey De Visscher is set to leave SPL outfit Aberdeen to return to Holland in a bid to play regular first-team football.The 27-year-old is in his homeland discussing terms with Cambuur Leeuwarden after getting permission to leave from Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood.

Calderwood told his club’s website: “He was disappointed that he wasn’t getting first-team football.

“He is a great player, but I think the way the game goes in Scotland doesn’t suit his style of play.

“He is more suited to a 4-3-3 formation and that doesn’t happen so much over here.”

De Visscher’s contract was due to run out at the end of the season.
